Dart League Rules

General Rules

  • There will be two seasons a year {Spring and Fall}
  • The length of the season and numbers of divisions will be determined by the numbers of teams in the league and voted on at the season beginning meeting.
  • Good sportsmanship should be extended at every opportunity.
  • Team Fee will be $20 each week and will be paid before any match can begin. Four dollars from each team each week will go towards the end of the season luck of the draw, the remanding funds will go for the league awards and the end of the season party
  • Weekly Matchers will begin at 7:30 pm
  • Forfeit time is 8pm {you need three players to shoot a match} If a team knows that one of there players is going to be late, the captain can try on work something out with the other team’s captain.
  • If a team has only three players they will have to forfeit 2 points, one from each of the singles matches. One player may shoot twice in either of the doubles matches, but not both. If each team has only three players, each team will forfeit one point.
  • Teams can have has many players on there roster as they want, no players can be on more than one roaster and must play at least to matches during the season to play in the playoffs. Subs may also be used during the season without being placed on a team’s roster, subs can also be used in the playoffs if they have played two matches during the regular season, but can only play for one team during the playoffs.
  • Each team will have an assigned captain. Each captain is responsible for the accuracy of the score sheet. Any disputes should be handled on a captain to captain basis when possible, if not then please bring the issues to the attention of one of the league officers during the night of the match.
  • Score sheets most be turned in at the end of the match, with all star and match points totaled up.
  • All Teams make the playoffs; playoff format will be determined by the number of teams in the league for that season.

    Match Rules

  • All darts must be thrown by and from the hand
  • A throw shall consist of all three darts, unless a game is completed in a lesser amount
  • All matches will begin by throwing for the cork. The player throwing the cork first will be decided by a coin flip, with the winner of the coin toss having the option of throwing first or second. If the first thrower has thrown a single or double cork, the person throwing second has the option of asking that that dart be pulled. A dart must remain in the board to count, if a players dart bounces out, additional throws will be made until a dart remains in the board. Should the second thrower dislodge the first dart a re-throw shall take place with the second player now throwing first.
  • Each match will consist of 2 Doubles 501 {2 points each} FIDO, 4 Singles Cricket {1 point each} 4 Singles 401 {1 point each} FIDO and 2 Doubles Cricket {2 points each} Total Match Points = 16
  • Fault Line is the outside edge of the line, your foot cannot be on the line
  • Each team is to provide a scorekeeper, alternating each game. The Scorekeeper shall stand as close as possible to the scoreboard facing the dartboard, with as little movement as possible. The scorekeeper should be a neutral part of the game, they can only report what has been hit/scored and the remaining score, the shall not offer information as to preferred outs, or what to shoot.?
  • It is permissible for a partner, teammate, or spectator to advise a player during a match. It is not necessary that the player step off the line.
  • For a dart to be scored the point of the dart must be touching or be in the face of the dartboard. If a game out shot is hit with the 1st or 2nd dart any dart thrown after the fact will be disregarded. Any dart bouncing out or falling out of the dartboard will not count, once the player steps from the line the darts are scored not matter if the dart then falls out.

    Equipment

  • Darts used in a match shall not exceed an overall length of 12 inches {30.5cm} and shall not weight more then 50 grams per barrel.
  • Dartboards shall be the standard eighteen inches bristle board approved by the ADO
  • The board height shall be 5’8” from the floor to the center of the cork or 9’7.5” measured from the center of the cork to back of the toe line. The back edge of the toe line shall be a minimum distance of 7’9.25” along the floor to a plum line form the center of the cork to the floor.

    All Star Points

  • 01 Games - Points adding up to 95 or more in a single throw {3 darts}
  • Cricket Games – a round of 5 scoring marks = 100 points
  • Cricket Games – a round of 6 scoring marks = 120 points
  • Cricket Games – a round of 7 scoring marks = 140 points
  • Cricket Games – a round of 8 scoring marks = 160 points
  • Cricket Games – a round of 9 scoring marks = 180 points
  • Round of 4 Corks = 100 points
  • Round of 5 Corks = 125 points
  • Round of 4 Corks = 150 points

    End of the Year Luck of the Draw

  • The set up of the draw will be voted on by all league members at the party
  • Option 1 – Pure luck of the draw
  • Option 2 – League Rankings { based on 1% of the player’s all-star points, 2 points for each singles win}
  • The Luck of the Draw will consist of 1 Doubles 501 and 1 Doubles Cricket if after both games there is a tie the looser of the coin flip has choice to throw for bull first, the winner of the bull has choice of game to determined the match.
